Ten Activities for Kids During a Pandemic

While COVID-19 has affected everyone deeply, immigrants and refugees to the United States are particularly vulnerable. Here are ten activities for you and your kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews to do during the pandemic!  How can we continue to learn, grow in our understanding, and support immigrants and refugees?

Rebuild, Renew and Restored

People on the move due to insecurity in their countries have many anxieties and uncertainties in life. Uganda hosts more than one million refugees that have no hope or plans to return to their home country. This prohibits them thinking positively about going home. Where would be the best place to live and experience the joy and sense of belonging? We have heard refugees asking, “How do we start thinking of going home amidst the lack of commitment to peaceful co-existence due to tribal and ethnic differences in the governing structure?”

Justice Prayers - Prayers for Home April 2, 2020

Across the globe populations are being told to stay home, to isolate from their neighbors, to not travel or even go into work.   Drastic measures taken to safeguard our neighbors by creating borders between us to stop a virus that has no borders.  And as has been pointed out, these measures are a luxury for many.  Not all have anywhere to go to isolate from others. Not all have running water to repeatedly wash hands or internet connections to maintain work productivity.

Hear Us Out - Protect the Vulnerable

The various ministries of the Christian Reformed Church in North America strive to care for our vulnerable neighbors well.  During this time of COVID-19 there are many ways in which we, as people of faith, can continue the work of loving our neighbors.  In fact, many of you are likely taking steps to physically distance yourself as a current expression of love!
