God of all, we pray for poll workers, county clerks, and election officials. We pray that you will be with them as they raise their hand and pledge to honor the constitution. Give them a peace that reflects your Spirit within them. Grant them, dear Father, the integrity and honesty that comes from a desire to be fair and impartial as they assist fellow neighbors and citizens in this expression of freedom we hold dear. Bless them with health and rest so that they can carry out their duties with clear thinking, accuracy, and attention to detail. Give them understanding of the many complex instructions and laws, and a desire to do all things well.
Fill each poll worker with compassion as they show genuine care for each person who enters their polling station. May their presence quiet the fears of those who have never voted before. May their kindness and respect for all people calm the anxieties of the fearful. May their hands and heart be useful in assisting people with disabilities, language barriers, cultural differences, registration difficulties, etc.
When lines are long and emotions are strained, we pray that you will give all poll workers extraordinary grace and love for each voter, and see all as fellow human beings created by you and worthy of respect. God please give the workers a calm presence so that they do not get nervous and rush through important steps. Grant them wisdom and insight to handle each situation that arises.
We pray for protection. Keep safe all those who work the elections and all who enter to vote. Keep anxious thoughts and ideas in check, and do not allow for any act of violence. We ask for protection from outside forces that would hack and harm the election process. And we pray for the equipment – may it work well so that all is done in good order.
King of the universe, show us the joy that comes from doing all things, including working the polls, to the honor and glory of your name. May the work of our hands be acceptable to you. May the best efforts of our minds give you praise. May the expressions of our hearts reflect your goodness.
We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
