"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might." - Deuteronomy 6:4-5
A military coup has taken place in Myanmar, with elected leaders put under house arrest. But the Rohingya refugees who had fled Myanmar because of the violent military campaign against them are worried that the situation will not improve for them. Last week host country Bangladesh sent more refugees to live on a remote, under-resourced island.
Father we pray for peace and not violence for the Rohingya people. We pray that for these, who have their backs to a wall already, will not be forgotten nor abused. We pray for solutions to their displacement but also for a safe, permanent home for those who have live in-between countries. Protect the innocent and vulnerable from harm, we pray. And bring peace to that region and its leaders.
Within hours of taking office, President Joe Biden signed an executive order rescinding the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline. The move has halted construction of the nearly 1,200 mile (1,930 km) cross-country US-Canada project.
Creator,
It feels intractable, this painful place where livelihoods and jobs seem to be pitted against a sustainable path forward in mitigating climate change. We know you see each family affected. We know you see what this earth needs to be a place of flourishing for all. We pray again and again that you would send your spirit to inspire new models for flourishing economies and also to provide for those whose jobs are lost. We pray this in your endlessly creative name.
US President Joe Biden has signed three executive actions seeking to reunite migrant families split up by a Trump-era policy. Mr Biden's orders will set up a task force to try to reunite the estimated 600-700 children who are still apart from their families.
God we have been praying for these children and we ask that their families be found and for them to be reunited. We are glad that this is an issue that publicly is being addressed but we pray the process would happen quickly. We pray for real paths for families to find safety and a place to live, work and raise these precious children.

The US has been in need of immigration reform for decades. The new administration introduced an immigration bill that would provide pathways to citizenship and worker protections. As people of faith, let’s urge our members of congress to support legislation that repairs our broken immigration system and promotes human flourishing. Take action here!
Financial resources and institutional support are invaluable and necessary to fighting human trafficking; however, increased public awareness and education will also be critical to creating any meaningful change. We invite you to ask your MP to support M-45, the National Human Trafficking Awareness Day motion, in time for 2021. Take action here!
